REV. DR. JAMES OUDOM, Associate Pastor  
Dr. James came to the USA in July 1985.  In 1986,  he worked as Pastor of the Lao Community of  the Christian faith.  In 1989, he founded the First Lao Presbyterian Church Fellowship of Houston, Texas.  In 1991,  he founded the National Laotian Presbyterian Council at Camp Cho-Yeh in Livingston, Texas.  In 1993, Dr. James founded Southeast Asian Lay Academy at Austin Seminary. He was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister at the Presbytery of New Covenant and called to be a consultant for the Lao Ministry by National Ministry Division (PCUSA).  In 1996,  he moved to Cornelia, GA to lead the Lao Ministry at First Presbyterian Church.  In October 2000, he became a member of Northeast Georgia Presbytery and was called to be Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Cornelia, where he started the First Presbyterian Lao TV broadcasting ministry.  In 2001, Dr. James graduated Doctor in Ministry at Missouri Christian Bible College and Seminary.  Dr. James and his wife, Joy, have three children: Christine, Ott  and Steve.

Truelove, Michelle
MICHELLE TRUELOVE, Director of Music

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Shortly after graduating from college, Michelle felt God’s call to music ministry and moved to Louisville, Kentucky to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where she earned a Masters of Church Music with a concentration in vocal performance.

Michelle is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. She and her husband, Todd, a newspaper reporter, have lived in Habersham County since 2000.

It is Michelle’s goal to enable all musicians of the church to use their talents and gifts for God’s glory.

Megan Gates Staff Pic
MEGAN GATES, Director of Children's Ministries
Megan is a lifetime Habersham County resident and has been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Cornelia since 2006.  She is the daughter of the late Bob House and Nancy House of Mt. Airy.  Megan lives with her husband and three children in Cornelia and stays very busy with all of their activities.  She has been the Children's Director since 2010.  She enjoys working with the children, learning about the Bible and singing praises.  Megan has also been a teacher in Habersham County since 2001.  She has masters in History and Secondary Education.  Her love for children at school, home, and church drives her to be the best mom and educator she can be.

LENETTA BECK, Administrative Assistant
Lenetta is a Georgia native. She has been working at First Presbyterian since 2012.  She is responsible for the daily operations of the church office.  She is married to her husband, Wayne, and they have two sons.   In her spare time, she enjoys being out on the lake.   Lenetta feels truly blessed to work for such a loving and caring congregation.

BRENDA BOONSTRA, Treasurer
Brenda was born and raised in the Midwest. She graduated from Calvin College.  Brenda and her husband, John have been married since 1981.  They have 5 children plus 2 children through marriage.  Brenda has been working at Piedmont College since 2011.  In her spare time, she loves to read and garden.

 MARTHA KAULBACH, Organist 
Martha attended nursing school in Washington, DC.  During her nursing career, she worked in operating rooms in her hometown in Connecticut, Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, and Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Martha has played the organ in every pastorate she has attended; 50 years’ worth! She has been playing at First Presbyterian for ten years.  Martha and her husband, George, live in Cornelia.  They have two daughters, Laurie and Suzanne.
 
 
JENNIFER HARTSOCK, PIANIST
Jennifer earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Music and Master of Arts in  Teaching – music education from Piedmont College. She is the Chorus and Theatre Teacher at Stephens County High School. Jennifer is originally from Gwinnett County. She and her husband, Trevor, currently live in Toccoa but will be moving to Cornelia soon. They are expecting their first child in June.
